You are Still the Captain of your Ship

By Kavita A Chhibber

In the past few weeks I have been having interesting conversations with different people, those who I am helping with Vaastu consultations, Vedic astrology or energy medicine. And I am noticing unrealistic expectations as  some people are either looking for a quick fix or are not ready to take responsibility for their own lethargy or lack of action.

What is really interesting is that wherever certain zones are blocked in their house/apt, people are manifesting the same mental or physical blockages in their personalities.

Similarly if they are running certain time periods, people have chosen to rent or buy or work in structures that manifest their Vedic charts.

Even if it is an organization, the decision makers are running that time cycle.

I have also met, people who are very crystal clear and positive about why they want to get the Vaastu done for their homes, or horoscope done, and others who are either confused and dilly dallying and  still dilly dallying, and others operating from anxiety and fear. And many not utilizing the modalities they have already learnt to improve the quality of their lives.

There are those who have great intuition, and when I tell them something needs to be changed or something is blocking an area of their life they already know and that is why they are taking appropriate action. Others know and are still finding excuses not to make those changes,   not seeing the bigger picture and becoming overwhelmed. Some are being penny wise and pound foolish and many others seem to have unrealistic expectations.

Our Vedic texts say 40 percent is karma found in our Vedic charts, 35 percent is Vaastu that can be utilized to correct those karmic issues and 25 percent is the action we need to take to make that happen. S0 we have 60 percent on our side and 40 percent that needs to be fixed.

What is very clear to me as I look at my own life is this-whatever modalities, and knowledge we gain is primarily geared to fill the missing pieces in the jigsaw puzzle of our life. And each person is karmically entitled to receive what they are meant to receive but it is only 40 percent of their lives. The rest can be achieved through Vaastu and action.

I was at the homes of two different clients on different occasions and saw that their kitchen and bedroom were causing health and other stresses in their personal lives. It was uncanny that the trouble began when they got their kitchens renovated and the bedroom was in the wrong zone. And I always smile at the astounded expressions, when just by looking at their charts I can tell people where the kitchen of the home they lived in was facing or where the bedrooms were etc. But that is how accurate Vaastu and Vedic astrology are.

Another client of mine told me everything in their lives turned topsy turvy when they went in for big renovations and built a new master bedroom. The husband had a heart attack, there was financial drain. My own aunt has lived in a very unlucky house for the past 60 plus years but won’t leave. She keeps telling me, I know the Vaastu is off but I can’t leave.  That is lack of action and not wanting to overcome her issues. Mercifully her son is ready to have the fix done when I go to India later this year.

And then it is equally exciting to see some houses where while there are issues some areas are so Vaastu compliant they are helping greatly. And the inhabitants of the houses ready to fix what is lacking.

There are many of us who often walk away after learning something, change career paths, change life paths, change houses/offices because something way more powerful is pulling us in that direction. If you have faith and pay attention there is no reason not to understand that things DO happen for a reason. And since you are given so many tools to enhance your life that is why action is very important.

Vaastu, astrology, karma, Pranic healing, yoga, Ayurveda, homeopathy, crystals, Reiki, Qi gong, traditional medicine-whatever resonates with you, use every tool and remember one modality cannot do everything for you.  Even in our Vedas, Vedic astrology, Vaastu, Ayurveda, yoga, and karma are all parts that make the whole experience.

But while you are learning to study your chart and getting Vaastu consultations, don’t forget the other key aspect-action and free will and begin the self-healing and healing of family.

One of my sweet students and clients said to me-“I am feeling agitated and my blood pressure is up- is it because of Vaastu changes?” And actually we haven’t even really started.  When I scanned her I found the chakras to be over active and severely contaminated in the entire family members. And the house is getting contaminated as well, apart from the Vaastu issues.

This has been going on for a while. So I said, “Do some self-healing it has nothing to do with Vaastu. She emailed back later and said she did and was feeling better.

Sometimes when I am very stubborn wanting things done fast I’m sure I raise my own blood pressure and that of my calm and kind husband, as I start barking orders. So it is very important to slow down, reflect and see what is going on. Change is also hard at times. I’ve seen hesitation when I ask people to change bed positions, bedrooms. Then I have to ask-‘What’s more important? Your health or that bedroom?”

One sign of contamination is when you feel drained and another key sign is when you try to rush through things, are irritable and snappy. It means you are not in a state of balance and harmony and neither are structures in which you live.

Another very important thing is to follow instructions correctly. If you don’t the Vaastu won’t work. Or the results will be different.

Having said that, I have to again reiterate, Vedic Astrology will give you the guidance, and Vaastu will remove blockages and enhance balance and harmony and give you the platform to fulfil your potential but you must remember that you are still the Captain of your ship.

I can fix your house with Vaastu, but if you don’t fix yourself and create the balance within you, through exercise, eating healthy, cleansing your space, cleansing yourself, meditation or whatever heal s you, you won’t feel the full impact of the fixes.  AS they say God helps those who help themselves.
